Space Banshee Exorcist
Live on Kickstarter now, is mine and Danielle Wiebe’s scifi-folk-horror-noir!
Space Banshee Exorcist follows the titular Space Banshee, Fenshaw, as she works as an exorcist, travelling across a far future, ultra-capitalistic galaxy, fighting monsters and saving humans.
In this first full-length graphic novel, she is sent to the mysterious medical testing moon, Morrigan, by a pharmaceutical inventor to find out why his clones are disappearing and to kill whatever creature is responsible. Fenshaw quickly realises that things are darker than she anticipated and has to navigate her own place in the universe at the same time as doing her job.

This is obviously an important comic for me, and I’m really happy to finally have it published. In terms of what to expect from it, anyone who enjoyed my previous book Rotten Under the Snow, knows that I like character driven horror: and I can promise more of that here. Along with disgusting things happening to flesh, of course.
The previous Space Banshee Exorcist stories have been a delight to work on, especially with Dani’s art. I think a good Fenshaw story puts her on the backfoot, making her do something ridiculous to beat an enemy ten times her size, and that’s another thing I’ve loved working on in this story. To me, there’s no fun in a main character who wins too easily. The thing with this first longer adventure has been trying to make the struggle go deeper as well as bigger, so it was important to me to push her as a person as well as an action hero.
